Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add something to my watchlist?

Tap the add button on the Watchlist screen and type in the title. That’s all that’s required — you can fill in the other details later, or never.

How do I mark something as watched?

Open the item and mark it as watched. It moves from your watchlist to your log. You can optionally record when you watched it, where you watched it, and how you’d rate it.

Can I log something I watched without adding it to my watchlist first?

Yes. You can add a title straight to your log if you’ve already seen it.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no account, no sign-up, and no login. Open the app and start using it.

Where is my data stored?

On your device only. Simple Watchlist makes no network requests and has no server, so nothing you enter ever leaves your iPhone. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

Is my data backed up?

No. Because everything is stored locally, deleting the app permanently deletes your data, and we have no copy to restore from.

How do I log watching something a second time?

Use Watch again. Each viewing is recorded separately, with its own date and rating, so your original entry stays intact and your statistics count both.

Can I rate something later, or not at all?

Yes. Rating is entirely optional. You can leave a viewing unrated, or come back and add a rating whenever you like.

Why can’t I search for a film and pick it from a list?

Simple Watchlist is deliberately manual. There’s no catalogue search, no posters, and no recommendations — you type in what you want to track. It keeps the app small and fast, and it’s why the app needs no network access at all.

Something isn’t working. What should I do?

Email hello@studio404llc.com and describe what happened, what you expected, and your iPhone model and iOS version. We’ll get back to you.
